Saturday, June 1, 2008: 1:00 PM First public reading of Le Mot Juste will be at Lift Bridge Books. All members, not only those with poems in the anthology, are invited. The anthologies are now ready for distribution. They will be available at the June 1 reading at Lift Bridge in Brockport. Every member receives one free copy.

June 8th, 2008: Pack Paddle Ski Poetry in Motion, 10 am- 3 pm "Poetry in Motion" takes another turn with a canoe paddle on Lake, to experience sights, sounds, smells, paddling and gliding and a lunch stop with poetry led by Kitty Jospé. Tuesday, June 10, 2008: 7:30 PM, David Michael Nixon and Ron Bailey are the two featured poets at the Genesee Reading Series at Writers & Books, hosted by Wanda Schubmehl at Writers And Books, 740 University Ave, Rochester, NY.
Thursday June12, 2008: 7:00 pm, Just Poets Reading Series at Barnes & Noble Pittsford. Ed Scutt will be the featured reader. An open mic will follow.

Monday, June 16, 2008: 6 p.m. (in conjunction with the Rochester International Jazz Festival), "Postcards In Jazz" at Rochester Contemporary Art Center, 137 East Avenue. FREE (courtesy of BOA Editions, Ltd.) A combination jazz concert and poetry reading, in which the music plays off the poems and the poems complement the music. Featuring poet & songwriter Wyn Cooper (Postcards from the Interior, BOA 2005) and Eastman/ RPO musicians: Mark Kellogg (trombone), Jeff Campbell (bass), Chris Azzara (piano) and Dr. David Blask (trumpet). Green Info Source (www.greeninfosource.com) is a key underwriter of this event. They are focused on best environmental practices, including "green" real estate development and home building.
Tues, June 17th: at 6:30 pm at the Brighton Town Library, as part of the Plays-in Progress program, for a staged reading of the full-length play (presented in one act), "Weeding for Isabelle," written by Patricia Roth Schwartz, casted and directed by Ed Scutt. Free. This work is a fictionalized version of the story of playwright's four female cousins in their 90s in the NC mountains, who are also the subject of "The Rachel Poems," and "Taken Wild," in her book, Planting Bulbs in a Time of War, and Other Poems (FootHills).
